Mayor Jason LaryMayor of The city of Stonecrest, Georgia – USA
In September 2017, Mayor Lary took the first steps toward implementing the city’s Economic Development Department. One month later, he began efforts to lure major corporations such as Amazon, a company set to open a second, multibillion-dollar headquarters. Mayor Lary crafted an idea to develop a corporate brand for Amazon by eponymously naming the 345 acres to be occupied by the retail giant.
Mayor Lary has been featured on national television news stations and shows such as Fox Business, MSNBC, Headline News and more than 75 newspapers throughout the world by creating the unique proposal to attract the online retail giant Amazon in its search for its new HQ2 Headquarters. His proposal landed in the Top 5 for Amazon across the United States and was rated Number 1 by Headline News for the most creative proposal out of 238 bids from cities. His proposal was recognized by the business magazine giant Fortune Magazine. The proposal positioned him as a four week regular in a recurring series “The Dash for Amazon” as a judge of the remaining cities.
Mayor Lary was re-elected for his first four-year term in November of 2019 and closed out the year with the City of Stonecrest ranked as metro Atlanta’s fastest growing City, according to the Atlanta Regional Commission. The City also reaped the rewards of its $47.7 million-dollar SPLOST Funding to improve infrastructure development over a five-year period. Fast forward to 2020, the Economic Development team is thriving with expansions expected to grow with the addition of Tourism Department. The activation of Stonecrest’s Film and Entertainment industry is also a contributing factor of major television shows such as GreenLeaf, Black Lightining, and movies on the big screen such as The Front Runner, MacGyver, Shaft and more.

Her varied background in engineering, medicine, and finance, paired with her experience as a founder and operator, makes her an immense asset to the Microtraction team and most especially for our portfolio companies.
Chidinma’s onboarding and settling-in process in the last 6 months is the smoothest I have ever seen by a long mile. It always feels as though she has been working with us from the very beginning. She genuinely cares a lot about Microtraction and understands what our mission is. As a partner, I feel a deeply shared vision with her of what Microtraction is and should be.
